Butterick patterns B4254....
....and B6196!!! Soooo exciting!!!
B4254 is a great one to have in the stash.... I think I'll start with the corset in the lower left. As for B6196, I'm going to use the vest pattern for an Oktoberfest costume.... I'll make my own skirt and draft my own blouse pattern. (You see, both blouses are really low... that's why I didn't post the pattern picture. It was absolutely disgusting!)
Have a nice evening (well, whats left of it)!

The "Anne" dress (from the 18th century)
back view. Don't you love my period correct green rubber boots? *grin*
a better view of the back.
the awesome sleeves. Seriously. They make the dress!
side/front view. (this is me directing my sister about what I wanted to be in the background. Little did I know she was snapping pictures when I wasn't looking during the whole photo shoot! *grin*)
Sadly, all of our pics of the front were really bad : / Actually, in the 75 pics we took, only 6 of them I deemed "ok". The wind was always making the skirt look really weird!
when I realized I didn't have any good pics of the front, I handed Amelia the camera and posed. My hair was really scary so we cut off my head.... and it's fuzzy too.... but you can see the lovely gathers in the skirt. *happy sigh* It's so fun to wear!
I used Simplicity 3723, view D.... except that I shortened the sleeves, and put princess seams in the back, rather that having darts.
Amelia wants me to make her a "C" dress. She would look really cute in it......

Happy (belated) Birthday, Amelia!
Amelia turned 10 a few days ago! Yay!
She's grown up so much this past year. :( And then, on Saturday, she got her ears pierced (and let me tell you, she was braver about it than I was!)
Thank you for being such a lovely sister, Amelia. We've had our fights, but believe me, I can't imagine what life would be like without you!

the Ladye of Shallot
I love the "music video" for the movie, "The Lady of Shallot". I haven't actually seen it, but here's some pics I found.
Anyways, here 'tis. (p.s. you'll get bored if you watch this as a video. If you listen to it while looking on another tab, you can appreciate it more. :)

Medieval inspiration....
Lately, I've been in a Medieval mood. I think that's because of the new Narnia movie coming out. (trailer coming in about three weeks!!! YAY!)
Remember the inexpensive fantasy dress? Well, I finished drafting the pattern.Yay! When I find the fabric, I'm totally going to sew this dress:
I also want to sew a LotR inspired dress using Simplicity 4940. Love the sleeves.
.....and I love Ophelia's gown..... but it's a painting, and I don't know how to make that gold trim in real life.
It reminds me an awful lot of the blue dress that Lucy wears in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe...
well, those are just thoughts. Right now I'm working on my fichu and some sort of Regency/Chemise a la Reine dress.
Have a lovely day:)

Neckscarfs...
In the Sense and Sensibility from '95 the Dashwood sisters almost always wear this neckscarf-type thing.
I have no idea what it's called, but I have to have one..so, I'm working on a pattern for it right now. More on this when I finish. :)

Fashion Week for Dolls: official closing ceremonies. *sob*
I'm putting links to all of the posts in all of the categories on my sidebar. I was going to do finalists for each category, but I decided that, since the object was to have fun, there was no point of making it a competition. :) I really enjoyed seeing what y'all came up with!
