Next April (2012) will be the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Yeeearssss ago, after the success of the 1996 Titanic movie (which I haven't seen yet! Apparently you need to fast-forward some scenes. Arg.) Simplicity made a pattern similar to the two most popular costumes. This became a discontinued pattern quite awhile ago. I've occasionally seen them on Ebay for about $60! This pattern is already out of stock at the moment.

It looks to me like you could probably modify the Regency era pattern to look similar to this... the silhouette is nearly the same and one of the Simplicity Recengy patterns even includes an over-dress.
