Autumn dress progress
This is the Autumn dress so far. I've cut out the sleeves too, but haven't assembled.
In the real Autumn Princess dress, you can see no darts or princess seams.
I'm trying to decide whether the gathering at the sides that naturally occurred is ok.... or if I should just cave in and do darts.
hmmm...
Celine
p.s. This is what my room looks like right now! You can see my assembled quilt top, a half assembled underbust corset, a pair of jeans half re-fashioned into a skirt, my books and patterns, pairs of fingerless gloves not yet assembled, and half of a Medival dress made from a sheet. The results? A very messy looking room.
Kind of reflects my mood at the moment. Lots of momentum, but scattered in many directions.

Autumn dress trim
I'm embroidering the trim for the Autumn dress. It'll be mounted on some thicker brown cotton.
The design is a cross between Susan's Narnian dress in (surprise!) the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, (Susan shouldn't even be in Narnia... anyone nervous?) shown in the trailer:

I also took inspiration from Eowyn's Sheildmaiden vest:

Anyways, pics coming soon..ish. Who knows.

the Autumn dress inspiration post
I haven't started this project yet; I'm finishing the other ones! Still, I thought it would be nice to have up...
Here is my original inspiration:
"Autumn Princess" dress from Pearson's Renaissance Shoppe
It'll be like this in the back:
I'm embroidering the trim myself (!) but I won't put any on the hem. The trim/embroidery will have these thread colors:

Planning...
Mom bought me six yards of this silver taffeta last night! It's absolutely gorgeous. It'll be a 18th c. inspired ball gown, with pewter and white/silvery beads on the stomacher and sleeves. I'll have a black tulle mask and also have tulle and a black rose is my hair.
Thank you, Mum!!!! :)
This is some olive green cotton broadcloth-type fabric. I'm making a medieval gown (that I've dubbed the "Autumn" dress), and embroidering the sleeves, neckline and possibly the hem with the thread colors shown.
These are the materials for Arwens Mourning dress (check out my previous post).
A close up on the buttons. I took these pics myself.... I didn't want to bother Amelia..... however, my close ups are really bad! She's so much better at this than I am!
